I like your reference to Futurism and Cage. They are like two art historical bits of information that only have hearsay evidence as to their effectm meaning and structure. Taken out of their time period these performic gestures become a sort of mythic gossip/ patter that forms OUR art world. The commodity masochism to which I'm refering is a little more current. It's a feeling I have about how meaning is achieved in modern media/ driven art works.
