the web was developped in the united states, which by essence makes it a capitalist product. however, there are possible means of resistance. it probably requires re-inventing reformism, and seeing how this model of resistance can be of any efficiency.
it also seems to me like since it is a new frontier, there will be a lot of excesses which pertain to trying and establish the limits of it. the interesting thing to me is that there is this tune of liberalism that sings against the omnipotence of the government on the one hand, and a call for this same instance to regulate something. the whole decency act is the best demonstration of that contradiction. the web also proves to be a very precise reflection of the state of our collective unconscious
