the issue of access is of course a core point of discussion. however, television was not really in american households befeore the 50's, and the invention dates from the 30's. given the amount of people who access the web from a varied number of places in the world, it seems to me that the dissemination of web access, both in terms of browsing and in terms of posting content, is actually faster than any other medium in history. indeed, many people do not know of the web as having already an influence on their lives, however unaware as they may be. this medium being in a state of definition, it is just bad that there is no accelerated access from more people with concerns and interests that would establish a serious counterpart to the "all-corporate" model of development.
