Hello, Ben, could you let me know some more about your project?

Ben Kinmont answers:
dear niall,
sure. if you would like to participate, you need to photograph
yourself doing your dishes and mail it into ADAWEB, attn: ben
kinmont, 32 west 22nd st., 6th floor, new york, n.y. 10010. then,
i will frame it with a photograph of me doing my dishes and give
it to you as an artwork.
the point of the project is to check out the possibilities of
exchange in an on-line situation, one which references two domestic
moments of maintenance. it is also trying to set up unusual systems
of economy where one person (me) gets to make a sculpture (the
whole project) and the participant gets an artwork for free, one which
would i would normally sell in a gallery.
i have done such interactive and exchange projects in the past, but
usually only on the street, in people's homes, or in galleries.
in this case i thought that i would experiment with the internet/
worldwide web as a new public space, note the limitations and
possibilities. etc.
anyway, if you would like to participate, you need to get your
photograph in no later than december 31st.
let me know if you have any other questions.
yours,
ben.
