Jenny Holzer has been developing
a visual investigation with written
language; her displays borrow from
mainstream systems of information,
such as LCD panels, posters, or stickers.
This has enabled her work to blend in the urban landscape,
thus reaching out in a much more efficient manner than
any other production which can be immediately identified as
art. The artist also presented a major installation at
the Guggenheim Museum (New York) in 1990 and
represented the United States at the 1991 Venice
Biennale (Venice, Italy).
