Overview As part of its Video Viewpoints program this Spring, The Museum of Modern Art presents Technology in the 1990's: The Human/machine Interface, a series of symposia that showcase several pioneering new media artists. Jane Veeder, Benjamin Weil and Julia Scher, Jim Campbell, and Simon Penny will present and discuss their own work as it elaborates on the fusion of art and technology. TIME AND LOCATION All events start at 6:30 11 West 53 Street, New York "Artists have been swept into the maelstrom of technological development," says Barbara London. "They enjoy unique abilities important in shaping society's technological future. This series brings to the public the work and ideas of five acclaimed artists and thinkers."

On the Web As an intergral part of these discussions, äda `web will offer a moderated forum for discussion on the topics provided by each of the speakers in the form of a web-based bulletin boards. Moderated by Barbara London, Associate Curator in the Museum's Department of Film and Video and Benjamin Weil, Curator of äda `web, each bulletin board will open before the event and close one week after. In addition, an ongoing discussion will remain open for the duration of the series gathering threads opened up among the speakers. An archive of the web discussion, images, audio, and a transcript of the live events will remain on äda web as a continuing resource.
